- At noon Indigenous Brilliance with host Lyle Toledo Yazzie brings you both traditional and contemporary native music. Lyle has a special guest coming at 1 pm today - tune in.
- At 2 pm we will air The Main Stream from Native Voice One. Host Brett Maybee (Seneca) curates a program that explores the best recorded music of yesterday and today. Brett draws upon his love of all music to create the very best listening experience.
- 3:00 pm tune in for John McNerney's Early Daze is back playing classic Rock and Roll from the 60s through the 80s.
- Today at 5:00 pm Marty Tippens brings you his weekly Music of the Space Age and Beyond. Now on the air for two hours with an encore at midnight Saturdays.
- George Koinis hosts The Jazz Groove now from 7 pm until 9 pm. Enjoy mainstream, swing, Latin, fusion, blues and more.
- Then at 9 pm it's Bioneers with Reconnecting the River: We hear from Yurok Attorney Amy Cordalis, one of many courageous Indigenous leaders who have fought for the un-damming and healing of the majestic Klamath River Basin spanning Oregon and California. Amy’s Yurok Nation was instrumental in removing 4 of 6 dams that choked the life flow of the river and severed the migratory routes of salmon for over a century. Bioneers is brought to you by Las Placitas Association.
- From 10 pm to midnight, catch the encore of Electric Bosque, hosted by Sasquatch on Saturday mornings at 7 am.

- At 5 pm, long-time favorite Let's Get Creative airs. Larry Goodell starts the hour with some featured poetry, followed by music and interviews from Jerry Di.
- At 6 pm join us for an all new locally-produced show: Dinner Jazz and More with host Glenn Aparicio Parry. Enjoy jazz from the cool era of Miles Davis (50s and early 60s) the first hour gently moving to crossover artists like Bonnie Raitt in the second hour. Nothing loud - just enjoyable dinner music.
- At 8 pm we will encore the new Community Voices that airs Friday mornings at 8 am.
- At 9 pm enjoy an hour of Global Village: Global Village marks the birthday of pianist, composer, stereo enthusiast and lounge music pioneer Juan Garcia Esquivel. We’ll hear music from his own releases along with tributes from the Metropole Orkest, Kronos Quartet, and Mr. Ho’s Orchestrotica. Plus more in our look back at the past year in world music with selections from Adrian Quesada, Cocoa Thrill, Afrodream, Xabi Aburruzaga, Trio da Kali, and Le Collectif Tange Negro Ensemble.

- At 9am Alonzo Lucero is live in the studio today with his selection of Rancheros, Cumbias, Boleros, Nortenos, Corridos and more. After 55 years on the air, Alonzo is moving toward retirement but loves his listening audience so much he just can't say goodbye. He will be live on Wednesdays and Thursdays each week.
- At noon tune in for Paul Ingles' Music Archives: Remembering Bob Weir, Hr.2: When The Rock and Roll Music Meets the Rising, Shining Sun: Bob Weir, the beloved co-founder of the Grateful Dead and solo artist and collaborator in his later years, is remembered in this hour long celebration of music and commentary featuring music journalist David Gans and host Paul Ingles. Weir died January 10, 2026 at the age of 78.
- At 1 pm enjoy Sounds from the Mother Road from Public Radio Exchange. This week on the Mother Road, a few Western Swing Tunes from the Golden Age and contemporary artists who continue the traditions today including Hot Club of Cowtown, The Quebe Sisters Willie Nelson and Asleep at the Wheel, as well as some old favorites from Elvis, Johnny Cash, George Jones, David Allan Coe and more. Sounds from the Mother Road is weekly exploration of the last 70 years of American Roots Music, featuring western swing, country, rockabilly, cowboy tunes and the artists who continue those traditions today.
- At 2 pm DJ Sal Treppiedi hosts Sounds from the Superhighway for three hours.

- At 8 am, enjoy Mike's House with host Michael Stovall will continue our Thursday morning tribute to New Mexico artists with interviews and live music. Mike returns with a 9-midnight time slot with more music and interviews with New Mexicans in the music business.
- At 9am KUPR tune in for Alonzo Lucero for more Musica Nuevo Mexico y Mas.
- Join us at noon for another KUPR exclusive, Stories with Montie. Montie will be returning weekly with another true story from New Mexico's past. Stories with Montie is produced by Dan White of Placitas. Today's story is Mysteries Unsolved.
- At 12:30 pm we will air Lore of the Land, one hour of a 7-part documentary series recorded, directed and produced by Jack Loeffler about El Camino Read de Tierra Adentro (The Royal Road to the Interior) - thought to be the oldest continuously used road of European provenance in North America.
- At 1 pm enjoy 10,000 Good Songs - Music Documentarian Paul Ingles shares some of the best from his multi-genre collection of tunes. Music you won't hear on commercial radio.
- At 3pm join Spinning Kenny G and the Mystery Hour.
- Dr. David Hoekenga's Harmonies from the Sandias airs at 6 pm, tonight's feature TBA.
- Night at the Opera has been retired after a long run. Join us now at 8 pm for an encore of Tim Trujillo's popular Straight No Chaser.
- At 10 pm: Searching for the First Rock and Roll Song where you will hear music from that time when rhythm and blues and rock and roll were emerging but hadn’t yet become a predictable formula. A time when musicians were listening to and incorporating these music’s exciting emergence into their own style of music – music that is difficult to categorize. - At 9am, tune in for Fridays' Musica Nuevo Mexico y Mas with Otto in charge - selections from our library of your favorite New Mexico tunes.
- At noon, Tim Trujillo leads off at noon with Straight No Chaser, for two hours with an encore at 8 pm Thursdays. Check out Tim's sidekick Richard Warren on our Talent Page and on the air. He knows a lot about the music he selects.
- At 2 pm welcome to Indigenous in Music with Larry K. - This show is an encore of a heartfelt tribute to the late Vince Fontaine, founding member of Eagle & Hawk and a proud citizen of Sagkeeng First Nation. Today, we rebroadcast our last conversation with Vince, reflecting on his powerful musical journey, his creative spirit, and the love he shared so generously with his family, friends, and community.

- At 7 am we kick off Saturday morning with Electric Bosque. DJ Sasquatch returns to the radio at KUPR, after a decade on the college radio station KCPR in San Luis Obispo, California, where he hosted a range of shows. He's excited to be back on the airwaves, sharing the music that tickles his ears in "Electric Bosque," a two-hour-long wander through electronic music new and old.
- Saturday morning at 9 am join us for a two-hour KUPR unique venture into the world of music. Patrick Vander Wyden hosts Hidden Gems of the 21st Century: Great music missing from commercial radio. Patrick harvests rain water for the station, is working on our planned solar power backup and is a member of the managing council. On Saturday mornings he introduces you to music he enjoys, but is missing from the playlists of most radio stations.
- Join us at 11 for Whiskey in the Jar, old time fiddle and traditional Irish music with host Marc Robert. Marc has been a fixture on the Placitas music scene for years, playing banjo, guitar and acoustic bass. He’s part of the Virginia Creepers, a local old time band, and also plays with his son Michel as Littlefoot (also old time) and with fiddler Eileen Sullivan as Far From Home (traditional Irish music). Whiskey in the Jar is two hours now.
- At noon Bill Honker returns with Home Again, recorded in Colorado for KUPR.
- At 1 pm host Beyond Words with Blaze Defiant airs in a new time slot. Enjoy music, poetry and all sorts of spoken word.
- Next up at 2 pm is Saturday Afternoon Freeform with Jerry D featuring Americana, Bluegrass, and Jambands, just to name a few.
- Bobbi Bell's OutWest Hour comes on at 4 PM- music, poetry, prose, Western, Western Swing, Cowboy Country and more.
- At 5 pm is an exotica jazz show - The Enchanted Tiki Hut with hosts Kitty and Mr. C. This show is another unique KUPR offering!
- At 7 pm we are excited to bring you another unique, locally produced show - The Lounge with host Nick Upton. Nick joined KUPR after a 45-year career in radio.
- Then at 8 pm, enjoy an encore of Music of the Space Age hosted by Marty Tippens (the Martian), a great show airing live on Mondays.
- Hours 4 and 5 of The Main Stream run from 8 to 10 pm.
- At 7 am, another new show - Classical Guitar Alive! This week's edition of CLASSICAL GUITAR ALIVE! features music by Bach, Biber, L’Hoyer, Kevin Taylor, Byron Yasui, Agustin Lara, and and an interview with guitarist-composer/educator Kevin Taylor, founder of the Childbloom Guitar Program, which has introduced over 17,000 children to music with the classical guitar, who discusses his piece for guitar ensemble titled “Scenes from the 4th System.”
- Sunday Morning with Ken Grimes and Lynn Kaskela begins at 9am for a Morning Blend of mostly mellow music to begin your Sunday.
- Ken is followed by Mandolin Magic with host George Koinis at 11, one hour of music featuring some of the world's finest mandolinists playing solo, in duets, with ensembles, and with orchestras.
- Katie Stone's award-winning show The Children's Hour - Firefighters: Firefighters are helpers who rush toward danger when others need help. On this episode of The Children’s Hour, the Kids Crew visits a real fire station in Albuquerque, New Mexico to learn how firefighters protect people, animals, and neighborhoods every day. The Children’s Hour Kids Crew and host Katie Stone took a tour of Albuquerque Fire Rescue Station Number Three, explore a real fire truck, and learn how firefighters respond to emergencies. The show shares fire safety tips for homes and wildfires, plus songs and interviews that explain what firefighters do and why teamwork matters. At Albuquerque Fire Rescue Station Number Three, kids meet Fire Chief Emily Jaramillo, Captain Kyle Christian, and other firefighters who explain what their jobs are really like. Firefighters respond to many kinds of emergencies. They help people who are sick, rescue hikers, put out wildfires, and even save animals stuck in tricky places. Firefighters work long shifts and live at the station for two days at a time while staying ready for calls. Listeners get an inside look at a real fire truck and the tools firefighters use. Kids learn about hoses, hydrants, ladders, turnout gear, and special uniforms that keep firefighters safe. Firefighters explain how they aim water, why response time matters, and how teamwork keeps everyone protected during emergencies. The show also teaches important fire safety tips. Firefighters explain why smoke detectors matter, how to make a home escape plan, and what to do if there is smoke or fire. Kids learn about stop, drop, and roll, staying low, and being careful with candles, stoves, heaters, and campfires. Firefighters also share how families can prepare for wildfires. Kids hear stories about why firefighters are heroes, how volunteers help in small towns, and why Dalmatians became part of firefighting history. The episode shows how firefighters care about their communities and work together every day.
- From 1-3 pm. DJ Ken Ward is on the air with “Tombstone Every Mile” for vintage honky-tonk and bluegrass, truckin’ songs, western swing and cowboy classics, gospel quartets, and the occasional old-time string band tune. Ken is on for three hours now.
- At 4 pm we air a three-hour KUPR exclusive: Women's Voices - Hour 1 is The Voice with Pam D, featuring a different theme each show. At 5 PM is singer/songwriter Anna Rudolph and Chasing the Muse. Then, at 6 pm, Women in Jazz joins the Women's Voices lineup, hosted by George Koinis.
- At 7 pm we hope you are enjoying another locally produced show, Stage & Screen. Stage & Screen is all about celebrating musicals with innovative weekly themes with host Keith Allen West but in January we will air another hour of the four part special from The Wizard of Oz. It might feel like the daily news, but it's just fiction.
- At 8 pm enjoy Old Time Radio Theater with host Ken Jones. You’ll be listening to the unmatched brilliance of the Broadway duo of Lynn Fontanne and Alfred Lunt in Maxwell Anderson's masterful Elizabeth the Queen (1945) and Dodie Smith's marvelous comedy Call it a Day (1946). The following week we’ll be airing a second week of performances from the wonderful Fontanne and Lunt.
