- At noon Indigenous Brilliance with host Lyle Toledo Yazzie brings you both traditional and contemporary native music.
- At 2 pm we will air The Main Stream from Native Voice One. Host Brett Maybee (Seneca) curates a program that explores the best recorded music of yesterday and today. Brett draws upon his love of all music to create the very best listening experience.
- 3:00 pm tune in for John McNerney's Early Daze is back playing classic Rock and Roll from the 60s through the 80s.
- Today at 5:00 pm Marty Tippens brings you his weekly Music of the Space Age and Beyond. Now on the air for two hours with an encore at midnight Saturdays.
- George Koinis hosts The Jazz Groove now from 7 pm until 9 pm. Enjoy mainstream, swing, Latin, fusion, blues and more. This week's Jazz Groove show will include selections by Anat Cohen, Gato Barbieri, Diane Krall, Eddie Daniels, Julian Lage, the Brooklyn Funk Essentials, Chucho Valdes, Ghost-Note, and more.
- Then at 9 pm, The Reluctant Psychonaut: How Psychedelics Changed Michael Pollan’s Mind: A quiet renaissance of serious medical research has once again arisen to study the therapeutic benefits of LSD and other psychedelics, including overcoming addiction and depression, to easing the existential terror of terminal illness. In this program, acclaimed journalist Michael Pollan shares a travelogue of his reportorial and personal journey with psychedelics. He slips through the rabbit hole into the mystery of consciousness itself, into the indivisible oneness of people and nature, and asks: could the transformational healing that psychedelics can bring on the personal ego level translate into cultural healing that could address the greatest issues of our time? - At 3 pm, another all new, locally produced hour of great music as DJ Linda KUPR after seven years in college radio at WRTC 89.3FM Hartford, Connecticut and a stint with Chicago Independent Radio Project (CHIRP). Hartford native. She’ll be playing country, folk, and other genre-defying tunes to enjoy on a Tuesday afternoon.
- At 4 pm, the popular Pearls with host Sarah Lawndart moves to this new time slot. Eclectic doesn't begin to describe Sarah's taste in poetry, music and more. Good stuff.
- At 5 pm, long-time favorite Let's Get Creative airs. Larry Goodell starts the hour with some featured poetry, followed by music and interviews from Jerry DiTata.
- At 6 pm in a new time slot, we air a syndicated show out of Colorado: The Beth Williams Indie Americana Songwriter Show. This is a one-hour weekly program showcasing Colorado and Texas songwriters, along with songwriters from around the world. Beth is an Academy of Country Music Top 10 Nominee for Best New Female Vocalist of the Year whose songs have charted in Billboard, Cash Box and various European charts through the years.
- At 7 pm, Dr. Slide brings his hit show Slide Factor live to Tuesday nights. Enjoy American Slide Music at its best with our Dobro and Steel Guitar master for over 50 years.
- At 9pm enjoy an hour of Global Village: This time in the Global Village, we feature music from the Silkroad Ensemble, a project which brings together musicians from across Asia, the Middle East and Europe and combines a variety of musical styles from around the world with western classical music and more. We’ll hear a popular song, a traditional Chinese piece, and a composition featuring Persian music master, Kayhan Kalhor. Also on tap, Balkan music from Bucharest’s Balkan Taksim, and contemporary afrobeat from Chopteeth Afrofunk Big Band and the Warsaw Afrobeat Orchestra.
- Now at At 10 pm, Wandering Minstrels brings you the best of Bluegrass.
- At 11 pm enjoy the encore of Anna Rudolph's Sunday Chasing the Muse.

- At 9am Alonzo Lucero is live in the studio today with his selection of Rancheros, Cumbias, Boleros, Nortenos, Corridos and more and brings you the Bernalillo Hour underwritten by merchants in Bernalillo. After 55 years on the air, Alonzo is moving toward retirement but loves his listening audience so much he just can't say goodbye. He will be live on Wednesdays with an encore Friday in the same time slot. On Thursdays Otto will bring you music from his personal collection.
- Noon brings Paul Ingles' Music Archive - A World Premier at KUPR: Blues man Buddy Guy, still playing great at 88, is honored in this first hour of a two-hour special. A panel of music writers, radio hosts, musicians, and fans explain why Buddy is revered the world over. Their comments are mixed with classic performances by Buddy Guy, whom Eric Clapton called "the greatest guitar player alive." Guy was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002 and awarded a Kennedy Center Honor in 2012. Hear Part 2 next week.
- At 1 pm enjoy Sounds from the Mother Road from Public Radio Exchange. On this week's show we will pull out some favorites from Doc Watson, Guy Clark, Asleep at the Wheel, Dan Hicks & His Hot Licks, Billy Joe Shaver. Dale Watson and Marty Stuart. Sounds from the Mother Road is weekly exploration of the last 70 years of American Roots Music, featuring western swing, country, rockabilly, cowboy tunes and the artists who continue those traditions today.
- At 2 pm DJ Sal Treppiedi hosts Sounds from the Superhighway for three hours.

- At 7 pm, a new time slot, tune in for Hindsight with Johnny Lawndart - music underplayed and overlooked. Tonight it's Christmas with the Lawndarts with both Sarah and John in the studio.
- Then at 9 pm, Telecaster master and king of Diesel-billy Bill Kirchen in performance at the Fur Peace Ranch recorded August 28, 2021.
- At 10 pm is our exclusively aired series "Stolen Moments" from the late Simon Barley. You will be treated to the best in acoustic modern jazz recorded between 1944 and 1969. Check out our talent page on the website to learn more about the amazing Simon Barley.
- At 8 am, enjoy Mike's House with host Michael Stovall will continue our Thursday morning tribute to New Mexico artists with interviews and live music. Next week Mike's House moves to the 9-midnight time slot as we say goodbye and thank you to Brandon McDaniel. Mike will continue to show up some Thursday mornings with live music and interviews with New Mexicans in the music business.
- At 9am KUPR brings you selections of Rancheros, Cumbias, Boleros, Nortenos, Corridos and more from Alonzo's collection from 55 years on the radio.
- Join us at noon for Art of the Song: This week on Art of the Song we air a rerun of English singer songwriting duo The Rails featuring Kami Thompson and James Walbourne. The rails combine a rich musical lineage with a contemporary point of view that is electrifying. It’s almost Shakespearean - this meeting of two great houses. The daughter of Richard and Linda Thompson, meets the go-to guitarist for The Pogues, The Pretenders and Sun Volt to create a rich new approach to folk. Watch for a new show in this time slot soon.
- At 1 pm enjoy 10,000 Good Songs - Music Documentarian Paul Ingles shares some of the best from his multi-genre collection of tunes. Music you won't hear on commercial radio. Thursday, will spotlight the music of Sam Moore, the soul singer who anchored the sound of hitmakers Sam and Dave in the 1960's and 70's. Music writer Holly Gleason, a friend of Sam's, joins Paul Ingles for a commemorative hour. Sam Moore died in January of 2025 at the age of 89.
- At 3pm join Spinning Kenny G and the Mystery Hour.
- Dr. David Hoekenga's Harmonies from the Sandias airs at 6 pm, tonight's feature TBA.
- Night at the Opera at 8pm is also hosted by Dr. Hoekenga and tonight's opera is TBA. Since operas vary in length, Dr. Dave will now fill the remainder of the time slot with classical selections.

- At noon, Tim Trujillo leads off at noon with Straight No Chaser, now for two hours with an encore at 7 am Sundays. Check out Tim's new sidekick Richard Warren on our Talent Page and on the air. He knows a lot about the music he selects.
- At 2 pm welcome to Indigenous in Music with Larry K. Joining us today is Joleen Brown, the visionary President of Native Hoop Magazine. Since its inception, Native Hoop has been a powerful platform dedicated to amplifying Indigenous voices, celebrating cultural diversity, and preserving traditions across Turtle Island. With a passion for storytelling and advocacy, Joleen has made it her mission to shine a light on the strength and beauty of Indigenous communities. We're honored to have her here to share her journey and the incredible work she’s doing to uplift Native voices."
- Peace Talks Radio now airs at 3 pm Fridays, a series on peacemaking and nonviolent conflict resolution. Today's show is Promoting Empathy in Health Care. We'll talk about empathy and compassion in medicine. There's an increasing recognition that compassionate care not only improves patient outcomes, but also helps doctors avoid professional burnout.
- At 4 pm enjoy KUPR's Happy Hour. Today enjoy Club 99 with host Kelly Esparsen.
- At 7 pm we air an encore of Wednesday's hit show Hindsight with host Johnny Lawndart.
- At 9 pm - The Playlist with host Brandon "Brando" McDaniel ends our day with three hours of eclectic music. This is Brandon's last show for KUPR - next week Michael Stovall and Mike's House moves to this time slot.
- At 7 am we kick off Saturday morning with Electric Bosque. DJ Sasquatch returns to the radio at KUPR, after a decade on the college radio station KCPR in San Luis Obispo, California, where he hosted a range of shows. He's excited to be back on the airwaves, sharing the music that tickles his ears in "Electric Bosque," a two-hour-long wander through electronic music new and old.
- Saturday morning at 9 am join us for a three-hour KUPR unique venture into the world of music. Patrick Vanderwyden hosts Hidden Gems of the 21st Century - Patrick harvests rain water for the station and is a member of the managing council. On Saturday mornings he introduces you to music he enjoys, but is missing from the playlists of most radio stations.
- Join us at 11 for Whiskey in the Jar, old time fiddle and traditional Irish music with host Marc Robert. Marc has been a fixture on the Placitas music scene for years, playing banjo, guitar and acoustic bass. He’s part of the Virginia Creepers, a local old time band, and also plays with his son Michel as Littlefoot (also old time) and with fiddler Eileen Sullivan as Far From Home (traditional Irish music).
- At noon Bill Honker will bring you Home Again. Bill is a singer and songwriter who played bass, sang and contributed songs to the Alan Munde Gazette, a nationally known bluegrass band.
- At 1 pm host Jerry D brings us Home Country with Slim Randles.
- Next up at 2 pm is Saturday Afternoon Freeform with Jerry D featuring Americana, Bluegrass, and Jambands, just to name a few.
- Bobbi Bell's OutWest Hour comes on at 4 PM- music, poetry, prose, Western, Western Swing, Cowboy Country and more.
- At 5 pm is an exotica jazz show - The Enchanted Tiki Hut with hosts Kitty and Mr. C. This show is another unique KUPR offering!
- At 7 pm we are excited to bring you another unique, locally produced show - The Lounge with host Nick Upton. Nick joined KUPR after a 45-year career in radio.
- Then at 8 pm, enjoy an encore of Music of the Space Age hosted by Marty Tippens (the Martian), a great show airing live on Mondays.
- Hours 4 and 5 of The Main Stream run from 8 to 10 pm.
- Sunday Morning with Ken Grimes and Lynn Kaskela begins at 9am for a Morning Blend of mostly mellow music to begin your Sunday.
- Ken is followed by Mandolin Magic with host George Koinis at 11, one hour of music featuring some of the world's finest mandolinists playing solo, in duets, with ensembles, and with orchestras.
- Katie Stone's award-winning show The Children's Hour - Black History is American History. American history is full of stories of influential, resilient, powerful black people doing amazing things. With some of the most common inventions we use every day coming from black Americans, we have a lot to learn! Dr. Marsha Hardeman from the University of New Mexico shares stories about Black Americans who were trailblazers and pioneers in the American Southwest and beyond. Did you know that Black inventors gave us things like the traffic signal, folding chairs, and even part of the light bulb? We’ll also talk about the first Juneteenth and the Buffalo Soldiers, who created new paths and opportunities for generations to come. Black history is filled with stories of courage, creativity, and resilience!
- From 1-3 pm. DJ Ken Ward is on the air with “Tombstone Every Mile” for vintage honky-tonk and bluegrass, truckin’ songs, western swing and cowboy classics, gospel quartets, and the occasional old-time string band tune.
- At 3 pm we air a four hour KUPR exclusive: Women's Voices - Hour 1 is The Voice with Pam D, featuring a different theme each show. At 4 PM is another hour of Beyond Words with Blaze Defiance, followed at 5:00 pm by singer/songwriter Anna Rudolph and Chasing the Muse. Then, at 6 pm, Women in Jazz joins the Women's Voices lineup, hosted by George Koinis.
- At 7 pm we hope you are enjoying another locally produced show, Stage & Screen. Stage & Screen is all about celebrating musicals with innovative weekly themes., with host Keith Allen West. Keith comes to Placitas via New Orleans with a promise to infuse his love of screen and stage into KUPR’s weekly cocktail. Keith is a busy actor with loads of energy, a quick-wit, and comedic timing ideal for not only broadcast, but a lively program of movie themes, comedy, and show tunes. - At 8 pm enjoy Old Time Radio Theater with host Ken Jones. You’ll hear four brilliant episodes of Sherlock Holmes starring Sir John Gielgud as Holmes and Sir Ralph Richardson as Doctor Watson. The following week we’ll be airing a delightful evening of musical variety radio programs from 1945:
