NOTE SOME SCHEDULE CHANGES:
1. The 3-hour Jazz Hour hosted by George Koinis now encores at 1 am Saturdays replacing The Eddie Chelist Hour (also hosted by Koinis) and The Strange Land (hosted by Tom Frouge). Corridos' encore moves from 1 am to midnight that day. After contributing an exciting musical experience for KUPR for years, Tom Frouge's own music business now demands more of his time. He will continue with KUPR as an advisor and supporter; just can't commit to a weekly show now.
2. The Electric Bosque now has an encore at 9 pm Mondays and Beyond Words now encores at 10 pm Mondays.
3. Global Village moves to 7 pm Tuesdays, followed by Wandering Minstrels at 8 pm.

- Tune in at 9 am weekdays for three hours of New Mexico music curated by Alonzo Lucero - Rancheros, Cumbias, Boleros, Nortenos, Corridos and more. 2023 marks Alonzo's 53rd year in radio - Bravo! Alonzo is live in the studio every weekday morning.
- At noon Indigenous Brilliance with host Lyle Toledo Yazzie brings you both traditional and contemporary native music. Today he will treat you to an special interview with an outstanding Hopi printmaker. Next week he will have Nancy Holley from Placitas Studio Tour on the show along with artists Joe and Althea Cajero of Placitas.
- At 2 pm we now air a bonus hour of the popular free-form show Undercurrents from Native Voice One.
- John McNerney' is back spinning Rock and Roll today on Early Daze from 3pm until 5pm.
- Today at 5:00 pm Marty Tippens brings you his weekly Music of the Space Age and Beyond. Marty's encore moves to midnight Thursdays.
- George Koinis hosts The Jazz Groove from 6 pm until 9 pm. Enjoy mainstream, swing, Latin, fusion, blues and more.
- Then at 9 pm, enjoy an encore of our newest show, the Electric Bosque which airs at 7am Saturdays.
- From 10 pm to 11 pm, catch the encore of Beyond Words, part of our Saturday Women's Voices at 4 pm Sundays.

- At noon join us for three hours of Blues from the Roadhouse with host Alan Ball.
- At 3pm we have added a syndicated show out of Colorado: The Beth Williams Indie Americana Songwriter Show. This is a one-hour weekly program showcasing Colorado and Texas songwriters, along with songwriters from around the world. Beth is an Academy of Country Music Top 10 Nominee for Best New Female Vocalist of the Year whose songs have charted in Billboard, Cash Box and various European charts through the years.
- At 4 pm we are airing a series from Public Radio Exchange: The International Americana Music Show: Trios and the number three, are part of the focus of this new edition of the program, much to Michael Park's surprise - as he only noticed the connection after he put together the playlist - which features songs by artists from countries including Scotland, Australia, and Canada.
- At 5 pm, long-time favorite Let's Get Creative airs. Larry Goodell starts the hour with some featured poetry, followed by Jerry DiTata with a musical focus on local talent.
- At 6 pm in a new time slot, host George Koinis presents music from the Eddie Chelist collection. Dr. Chelist was an avid collector of music from many genres and artists.
- At 7pm enjoy an hour of Global Village replacing our long-running The Strange Land. Global Village celebrates the birthday of the ‘King of Highlife,’ E.T. Mensah. We’ll hear some classics and rarities that established him as one of the giants of African music and helped make highlife a popular style well beyond the borders of Ghana. We’ll also hear some contemporary music from Ghana from Kyekyeku, more music from Haiti for the May feature (compas pioneer Webert Sicot and contemporary band RAM), and recent releases featuring music from Nigeria’s Alhaji Waziri Oshomah, Kurdish soul group – the Meral Polat Trio, and a compilation of Afro-Cuban bands.
- At 8 pm, Wandering Minstrels brings you the best of Bluegrass.
- At 9 pm we air host Casey Mortenson and Roots of Indie, celebrating live and recorded indie music. Though Casey has moved away, he will continue to air indie music for us - and his fans are delighted.
- 7am - two hours of curated music by New Mexico musicians
- At 9am Alonzo is live in the studio with his selection of Rancheros, Cumbias, Boleros, Nortenos, Corridos and more and brings you the Bernalillo Hour underwritten by merchants in Bernalillo.
- Paul Ingles' one hour Music Archive Showcase airs at noon: Today enjoy Hour Two of Paul's Tribute to Tina Turner (Hour One premiered last week on 10,000 good songs and can be revisited in the two-week archive.
- At 1 pm enjoy Sounds from the Mother Road from Public Radio Exchange. This week on the Mother Road tunes about fiddlers, Hot tubs and Tears and a Peanut Butter Conspiracy.
- At 2 pm DJ Sal Treppiedi airs Sounds from the Superhighway for three hours.
- Today at 5 pm join us for hours 1 and 2 of Undercurrents from Native Voice One.
- At 7 pm, a new time slot, tune in for Hindsight with Johnny Lawndart - music underplayed and overlooked. And look for a second airing of some version of Hindsight now on Saturdays at 8pm.
- Then at 9 pm, Geezer Rock with featured Geezer Journey's Neil Schon: And this is it. To quote Commander Cody, this is the “bendin’ end.” The last episode of Geezer Rock. To close out the series, I’ve got a new single from Yes, other goodies from Rundgren’s Utopia and Kansas, and a few different incarnations of Journey’s Neil Schon, who has a new live album out, looking at the early days of Journey, with help from original Journey organist Greg Rolie. - Art of the Song airs at noon: We remember Austin, Texas singer/songwriter Jimmy LaFave six years after his passing. We’re proud to dust off our 2010 interview with Jimmy and combine it with some of our favorite of his tunes. In the interview Jimmy spoke about the difference between “good” music and the kind you hear on commercial radio, the loving folk music community, and his relationship with the Woody Guthrie family.
- At 1pm enjoy 10,000 Good Songs - Music Documentarian Paul Ingles shares some of the best from his multi-genre collection of tunes. This is not music you will hear on commercial radio.
- At 3pm join Spinning Kenny G and the Mystery Hour - you never know what to expect.
- Dr. David Hoekenga's Harmonies from the Sandias airs at 6 pm, tonight's feature TBA.
- Night at the Opera at 8pm is also hosted by Dr. Hoekenga and tonight's opera is TBA. Since operas vary in length, Dr. Dave will now fill the remainder of the time slot with classical selections from earlier in the evening.
- 7am - two hours of curated music by New Mexico musicians.
- At 9am, tune in for Alonzo Lucero as he highlights Corridos for an hour on Fridays.
- Tim Trujillo leads off at noon with Straight No Chaser, now for two hours with an encore at 7 am Sundays. Strolling Down Memory Lane co-host Rick Lawrence is taking a break, so following Straight No Chaser is a new show from Public Radio Exchange.
- At 2 pm we'll be airing Woodsongs. On this week's WoodSongs broadcast, folksinger Michael Johnathon welcomes Mobile, Alabama folk songwriter Abe Partridge plus the Appalachian power grass trio The Goodwin Brothers.
- Peace Talks Radio airs at 3 pm, a series on peacemaking and nonviolent conflict resolution. Today's show is Tempering Travel Rage / Significant Other: This week enjoy a two-parter. First, a discussion on tempering travel rage. Then a personal coach talks about how to handle some of the common conflicts between couples.
- This week's Happy Hour at 4 pm is brought to you by Lyle Toledo Yazzie, host of Monday's Indigenous Brilliance.
- At 9 pm - The Playlist with host Brandon "Brando" McDaniel ends our day with three hours of eclectic music. Brando has recently been making guest appearances as the host of the local music segment of Let’s Get Creative on KUPR and we are excited to make a space for his eclectic taste in music
- At 7 am we kick off Saturday morning with a brand new show: Electric Bosque. DJ Sasquatch returns to the radio at KUPR, after a decade on the college radio station KCPR in San Luis Obispo, California, where he hosted a range of shows. He's been in New Mexico for over a decade, and is excited to be back on the airwaves, sharing the music that tickles his ears in "Electric Bosque," an hour-long wander through electronic music new and old.
- Saturday morning at 8 join us for a three-hour KUPR unique venture into the world of music. Patrick Vanderwyden hosts Hidden Gems of the 21st Century - Patrick moved to Placitas in March of 2020 and has become a vital member of the KUPR and LPA communities. He harvests rain water for the station and helps with construction projects. On Saturday mornings he introduces you to music he enjoys, but is missing from the playlists of most radio stations.
- Join us at 11 for Whiskey in the Jar, old time fiddle and traditional Irish music with host Marc Robert. Marc has been a fixture on the Placitas music scene for years, playing banjo, guitar and acoustic bass. He’s part of the Virginia Creepers, a local old time band, and also plays with his son Michel as Littlefoot (also old time) and with fiddler Eileen Sullivan as Far From Home (traditional Irish music).
- At noon Bill Honker will air Home Again. Bill is a singer and songwriter who played bass, sang and contributed songs to the Alan Munde Gazette, a nationally known bluegrass band. He is part of the Desert Mountain String Band along with Dr. Slide.
- Host Jerry D brings us Home Country with Slim Randles at 1pm Saturday.
- Next up at 2 pm is Saturday Afternoon Freeform with Jerry D featuring Americana, Bluegrass, and Jambands, just to name a few.
- Don't miss the OutWest Hour with host Bobbi Bell at 4 PM- music, poetry, prose, Western, Western Swing, Cowboy Country and more. This week it's "Mailbox Music and Poetry".
- At 5 pm is an exotica jazz show - The Enchanted Tiki Hut with hosts Kitty and Mr. C. This show is another unique KUPR offering!
- At 7 pm we are excited to bring you another unique, locally produced show - The Lounge with host Nick Upton. Nick joined KUPR after a 45-year career in radio.
- Then at 8 pm, check out X Wave with host Freeze featuring alternative, new wave and underground music from the college radio era. Read more on our talent page.
- Hours 3 and 4 of Undercurrents run from 8 to 10 pm.
- Sunday Morning with Ken Grimes and Lynn Kaskela begins at 9am for a Morning Blend of mostly mellow music to begin your Sunday.
- Ken is followed by Mandolin Magic with host George Koinis at 11, one hour of music featuring some of the world's finest mandolinists playing solo, in duets, with ensembles, and with orchestras.
- Katie Stone's The Children's Hour - This week on The Children’s Hour we learn about the most inexpensive energy source in the world: solar power. In a show recorded live at the New Mexico Solar Energy Association’s Solar Fiesta, the kids talk with solar educator and engineer, Marlene Brown. Featuring live music by Eileen & the Inbetweens.
- Tune in from 1-3 pm for Slide Factor - Enjoy American Slide Music at its best with Dobro and Steel Guitar master for over 50 years, Dr. Slide. Listeners love the show, the host and his music choices.
- At 3:00 pm we air a four hour KUPR exclusive: Women's Voices - Hour 1 is "The Voice" with Pam D, featuring a different theme each show. At 4 PM is another hour of Beyond Words with Blaze Defiance, followed at 5:00 pm by Sarah Lawndart as she graces our airwaves with "Pearls" - music, poetry and more. Then, enjoy a bonus hour of KUPR curated music by women musicians.
- Bob Witter, host of The Mix, is back with all new one hour shows.
- At 8 pm enjoy Old Time Radio Theater with host Ken Jones. You’ll be listening to exciting radio adaptations of two of William Holden’s earliest hit films: Union Station (1952) starring Holden, Nancy Olson and Lyle Bettger and Appointment with Danger (1953) costarring Holden with Colleen Grey. Then the following week we’ll be airing two performances by the legendary Kay Frances.
- At 10 pm to midnight we run an encore of Thursday's 10,000 Good Songs from music Documentarian Paul Ingles with a weekly mix of music from his multi-genre personal collection - mostly stuff you only get from public radio.
